MTAS LIGHT-RAIL CONTRACT FALLS APART

A last-minute refusal by an Italian passenger train carmaker to be fined for missing production deadlines derailed a $300 million deal that would have brought a factory to Los Angeles, officials said Monday, costing the region an estimated $368 million in economic activity and hundreds of jobs.
